Trump administration CUTS FUNDING to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance – a major blow to the Bill Gates-backed entity

The Trump administration has delivered a decisive blow to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance – an organization heavily funded and influenced by billionaire Bill Gates – by cutting U.S. taxpayer funding to the controversial global health entity. This move comes as a long-overdue reckoning for an organization with a troubling track record, including its role in a catastrophic polio outbreak in Africa that paralyzed thousands of children. Since its founding in 2000, Gavi has received billions in taxpayer dollars, with the U.S. contributing 13 percent of its funding. The Biden administration had pledged an additional $2.53 billion from 2022 through 2030. Of this amount, $880 million has so far been dispersed. But the U.S. Department of State turned off the tap on that grant. According to a 281-page memo from the department, the Gavi grant was axed as part of a sweeping review of foreign aid programs. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended the memo, pointing out that the grants to be cut as per the memo were "inconsistent with the national interest." Predictably, officials at Gavi and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation expressed outrage over the move.  Gavi CEO Sania Nishtar warning of "disastrous" consequences, including "the deaths of over a million children over five years." Meanwhile, Gates Foundation CEO Mark Suzman claimed the decision would lead to "hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of preventable deaths. The polio disaster: Gavi's deadly mismanagement exposed

Gavi is now scrambling with the Trump administration's funding cut. But given the organization's history of mismanagement, one cannot help but ask: How many of those "preventable deaths" are actually caused by the reckless policies of Gates and his allies? What Nishtar, Suzman and other Gavi allies won't admit is the entity's own culpability in past vaccine disasters. In 2016, Gavi was a key player in the disastrous "switch" from a trivalent oral polio vaccine (OPV) to a bivalent version, a move that backfired spectacularly. Instead of eradicating polio, the decision unleashed vaccine-derived poliovirus (VDPV) outbreaks across Africa. The outbreaks paralyzed more than 3,300 children – a catastrophe Gavi has never fully acknowledged or atoned for. An internal report commissioned by the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), of which Gavi is a core partner, called the switch an "unqualified failure." It cited "management and leadership errors" that allowed VDPV outbreaks to spiral out of control. Even Roland Sutter, former head of polio research at the GPEI, admitted the program failed to act with urgency. Yet Gavi and its allies, including the Gates Foundation, have continued to push mass vaccination campaigns with little accountability for the collateral damage. Gavi operates with near-total impunity, shielded by its powerful backers. While it boasts of vaccinating 1.1 billion children, it refuses to reckon with its failures – whether the African polio disaster or the untold injuries from other rushed vaccination campaigns. The Trump administration's decision to defund this unaccountable entity is not just fiscally responsible; it’s a moral imperative. As globalist elites panic over losing their taxpayer-funded gravy train, Americans should celebrate this move.
