Despite its own torture campaigns, Israel pressures U.S. Congress to stop funding UNRWA over allegations aid group harbors Hamas
As more than two million Palestinians face famine and starvation as a result of Israel's war on Gaza, the Zionist-controlled United States Congress has
stripped all UNRWA funding through next year.
In their newest multi-trillion-dollar funding bill, U.S. lawmakers voted to end all funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees through 2025, even as it continues giving Israel its annual $3.8 billion welfare check, compliments of U.S. taxpayers.
The funding bill, which was passed in the 11th hour to avert yet another federal government shutdown, contains a longstanding provision that conditions aid to the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority (PA) only if:
"... the Palestinians initiate an International Criminal Court (ICC) judicially authorized investigation, or actively supports such an investigation, that subjects Israeli nationals to an investigation for alleged crimes against Palestinians."
President Joe Biden promised to sign the bill, and did just that, with the conditions intact.
"The historic ban on U.S. funding to UNRWA that passed today with overwhelming bipartisan support demonstrates what we knew all along: UNRWA is part of the problem and cannot be part of the solution," celebrated Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on X.
"UNRWA will not be a part of Gaza's landscape in the aftermath of Hamas. Thousands of UNRWA employees are involved in Hamas terror activities, and their facilities were used for terrorist purposes."

Israel's torture campaigns
Back in January, Tel Aviv launched a massive smear campaign against UNRWA, accusing its members of having involvement in the October 7 Hamas attack, which as we now know was wildly overblown with Israeli propaganda about "babies in ovens" and other made-up events.
Despite presenting no evidence to support its claims against UNRWA, Israel successfully lobbied the U.S. Congress to omit all UNRWA funding from the funding bill while continuing to send billions in aid to Israel every year.
The same day Tel Aviv launched its smear campaign, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Israel is plausibly committing genocide in Gaza, where 30,000-plus innocent civilians, including women and children, have been slaughtered by Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
While some UNRWA members did end up confessing to having "Hamas ties," they only did this because they were being tortured by Israel with severe beatings, waterboarding, the use of attack dogs and threats of harm made to family members, a thorough internal investigation found.
Israel also set up hundreds of fake social media accounts to amplify its false claims against UNRWA to make it seem like there are many different sources in agreement with its Hamas ties.
Fake Reporter researchers uncovered Israel's deceptive social media scheme, identifying numerous fake "news sites" that were set up by the Zionist state specifically to smear UNRWA prior to getting it defunded.
These same fake "news sites" copied both each other and "real" news sites such as
CNN,
The Wall Street Journal,
The Guardian,
The Jerusalem Post and
The Times of Israel, all of which promote Israel's version of what happened on October 7.
The fake "news sites" set up by Tel Aviv aggressively promoted Israel's propaganda as it was being reported by the aforementioned "real" news sites, creating an illusion of widespread support for the claims of Hamas ties at UNRWA.
Just hours before Washington moved to cut all aid to UNRWA, European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Josep Borrell announced the resumption of funding for UNRWA from other Western countries including Finland and Canada.
