Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now searching for countries willing to "absorb" Palestinians forcibly displaced by the Israeli Defense Forces. Netanyahu made this remark during a meeting with the extremist Likud Party on Christmas Day. "Our problem is countries that are ready to absorb them, and we are working on it," Netanyahu said. "The world is already discussing the possibilities of voluntary immigration." He added that a team must be set up to "ensure that those who want to leave Gaza to a third country can do so." Netanyahu further claimed that Gaza "needs to be settled" with Israelis due to the region's "strategic importance." Netanyahu's latest statements regarding the aftermath of the current conflict in Gaza align with statements made by other senior Likud figures, such as former Minister of Science Danny Denon, who has publicly called on both the Middle Eastern countries and Western nations to accept refugees from Gaza. The prime minister's statements also proved correct the claims of Palestinians, who have long said that Israel's current campaign in Gaza is aimed at securing their permanent expulsion from the region. Egypt, Jordan have ruled out accepting Palestinians into their borders

Israel's main neighbors, Egypt and Jordan, have categorically ruled out accepting Palestinians en masse into their borders. Jordanian King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed their complete rejection of all attempts by Israel to "liquidate" the Palestinian issue. Abdullah and Sisi met in the Al Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo, with the former reaffirming Jordan's support for the Egyptian position against any attempts to forcibly displace Gazans and Israeli attempts to preoccupy parts of Gaza, build up buffer zones within the Strip or politically separate it from the West Bank. The two also noted their desire for the entire world to pressure Israel into agreeing to an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of sufficient and sustainable amounts of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in the Strip. The Jordanian king and Egyptian president also called on the international community to recognize the immense political and ethical responsibility they have on their shoulders toward enforcing the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly resolutions concerning Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank. Doing so, they argue, is the only way for the Security Council and the General Assembly to maintain their integrity. Finally, Abdullah and Sisi warned that if the conflict in Gaza were to continue indefinitely, it could plunge the entirety of the region into a catastrophe, the price of which the entire world will have to pay. They stress the need for the international community to exert enough pressure to prevent the spillover of the conflict.
