Israel to deploy specially trained ATTACK DOGS against Hamas fighters in Gaza

Israel is set to deploy a group of specially trained military canines against Hamas fighters hiding underneath the Gaza Strip's vast tunnel system. Ofir Gendelman, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's spokesman to the Arab media, posted a video of these canines being trained on the X platform. The footage showed an attack dog navigating a mock-up underground tunnel before expertly mauling a fake Hamas operative. The canines from the Israel Defense Forces' Oketz unit will be deployed in the sprawling 311-mile network of tunnels controlled by Hamas, according to the Sun. These tunnels – some concealed up to 100 feet below the surface – have entrances hidden beneath homes, mosques and schools, providing fighters with covert access to residential areas and alleyways within Gaza. Hamas uses these tunnels for transporting people and goods, storing rocks and ammunition and launching rockets towards Israeli territory. Moreover, the entire tunnel network is fraught with booby traps and homemade explosives, making any intervention a highly dangerous endeavor. The intricate network serves as the location for their command and control centers, hidden away from Israeli surveillance. Some lanes are so narrow that fighters must crouch while navigating them. Given these potential dangers, the IDF recognizes that raids are not a viable option. However, specially trained military canines, which are proficient at sniffing out explosives, locating tunnel entrances and mauling terrorists, would be the best asset for reconnaissance and subduing threats. We will be able to dismantle Hamas, stronghold after stronghold, battalion after battalion, until we achieve the ultimate goal, which is to rid the Gaza Strip – the entire Gaza Strip – of Hamas," said Israeli army spokesman Jonathan Conricus.

Netanyahu defies Gaza ceasefire plea from Pope Francis, Middle East leaders

Despite calls for a ceasefire from Pope Francis and Middle East leaders, Netanyahu has remained steadfast in his stance against it until the release of 240 hostages. During the pontiff's weekly Angelus prayer, he urged for an end to the violence and called for humanitarian aid to help the civilians in Gaza. "I pray you to stop in the name of God, cease the fire," he said. Even leaders from neighboring countries joined the chorus of voices pleading for a halt to the hostilities. "Israel is losing its humanity in this war," said Ayman Safadi, the foreign minister of Jordan, a country sharing a border with Israel. However, the IDF still defied their pleas and continued their bombardment campaign while planning for more. The military forces have "fully encircled Gaza City" and are conducting "widespread strikes on terror infrastructure" both above and below ground. The military claims to have uncovered evidence of Hamas's tunnel network, referring to it as the "City of Terror." "Our enemies misjudged us; there will be no ceasefire without the return of the hostages. This should be completely removed from the lexicon. We say this to our friends and to our enemies," declared Netanyahu at the Ramon Air Force base in southern Israel.
