As the United States struggles, grappling for workforce and resources amid the massive illegal migration tsunami, President Joe Biden admits that the influx was not an unseen circumstance, but according to his directive and by design. During his speaking engagement at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute 46th Annual Gala at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. on September 21, Biden bragged about his open borders policy as a new surge of migrants was flooding the U.S. southern border, particularly in Eagle Pass in Texas. The president boasted of all the steps he has taken to increase legal immigration and work permits, pointing out that he "also directed my team to make a historic increase in the number of refugees admitted from Latin America, people fleeing violence and persecution who simply want their kids to have a better life," a statement that received applause from his audience. He was even proud to say that his administration is supporting states and cities that have seen a surge in immigrants. "We've developed federal experts and deployed them to help train city workers. We've launched outreach campaigns helping over a million eligible migrants apply for work permits. And we're accelerating a process for work permit applications," Biden added. However, the Democratic Mayor of Eagle Pass, Rolando Salinas, who recently declared a state of emergency in his town due to the heavy surge of illegals, is calling on Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris to come and visit to see what the community is dealing with. He has pleaded for the top officials or anyone from the administration to "acknowledge the situation" and "let us know what they're doing to deter and control the situation." And yet, he did not get a single reply from the White House. Speaking at Fox News' "Your World," the mayor said that the local economy has taken a hit from the ongoing crisis which he described as "chaotic and disappointing."  "To have that amount of people roaming our streets. It's just unacceptable. We have limited resources, a limited police force and fire teams. So it's disappointing to see all these people come in without a consequence," he lamented. "It's very disheartening to see this happening, especially here in the city of Eagle Pass." He also debunked government claims that things are still manageable in his jurisdiction, saying this should not happen in any city in America "because we're a nation of laws." "People should be able to come here legally. We're all for that. I'm sure everybody agrees, but thousands of people come in without consequence, that should not be allowed into the United States," he pointed out. Moreover, another city mayor is criticizing the POTUS' border policies. New York City Mayor Eric Adams's video, where he admitted that the ongoing migrant crisis "will destroy" the Big Apple and that he does not see a way to fix the issue, has already gone viral. The D.C. columnist of the Federalist, Eddie Scarry, said that rival politicians publicly denouncing Biden's immigration policies are expected, however, Adams, just like Salinas, is a Democrat. (Related: NYC Mayor Eric Adams admits mass illegal immigration is inherently destructive for the Big Apple.) Adams spoke about the unabated stream of migrants sent to his city via Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's migrant busing program. He said these asylum seekers get the privilege of bathing, clothing, feeding and housing them all at the local taxpayers' expense. "Let me tell you something New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to – I don't see an ending to this," Adams stated earlier in September. "This issue will destroy New York City." According to him, this money doesn't get to be spent on things like homeless shelters, police and more public services that would otherwise go to actual Americans and legal residents. Adams also pointed out that the city's requests were still mostly "unaddressed." He even called for a federal emergency and a national "decompression strategy at the border."

August stats are out: Most immigrant encounters ever recorded

Last Friday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released operational statistics for August 2023, indicating the most immigrant encounters in August ever recorded. It included more than 300,000 immigrants that attempted to enter the U.S. unlawfully or were paroled during August, spelling a catastrophe for the Biden administration. Meanwhile, the current leadership, which seems to be in denial, claims its sweeping policy reforms were working. According to CBP, 304,162 people apprehended by Border Patrol while crossing the border illegally, were deemed inadmissible by customs officers at ports of entry, or used new Biden initiatives to bypass the border and fly under the umbrella of temporary parole. Also, 181,059 immigrants were arrested at the southern border after walking around the ports of entry and crossing into America. Approximately 74,000 of that number were single adults, 19,000 arrived with a family member, and 13,500 were unaccompanied children. Meanwhile, when asked by a reporter at a press briefing last week about how many illegal aliens crossing the border is enough for the administration, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre seemed annoyed before answering: "Enough for what?" When the member of the press provided the current statistics, she bantered: "I know the numbers." The reporter repeated the question completing it with: "Enough to stop the flood." She eventually replied: "This is a problem that's been around for some time now, for decades – a broken system." The question was not directly answered.
